EPISODE 30_ BOSCHKOP, VAALDAM A GREAT VENUE TO FISH AT THIS COMING LONG WEEKEND & SCHOOL HOLIDAYS Many of our viewers, ask us the question where can they can go fishing with their family at the Vaaldam. They want a safe, clean and affordable venue with loads of fish. In this video team Legacy Series visits an awesome public venue with all the tick boxes at the Vaaldam named, Boschkop. As you know, South Africa has been blessed in South Africa with rain the past few months. This has lead to the Vaaldam water level rising from 28% in December, to over a 100% in March 2025. Higher water levels however, create various challenges for anglers during this time with higher water levels, and summer rains. In this video, Barend Breedt, Raymano Venter and Christiaan De Beer from Team Legacy Series decide to go fishing at a popular public venue on the banks of the Vaaldam, named Boschkop. They face some of the most difficult fishing conditions and challenges including full moon, cold front, wind and rainy weather to show you how one can approach such conditions and still enjoy your fishing trip and catch plenty of fish, whilst having fun in nature. The guys share various tips and tricks, when fishing the Vaaldam in these conditions to assist you in making your long weekend and school holiday fishing trips, as enjoyable and productive, as possible. Whilst planning this trip TO GO fishing, the Vaaldam looked to be extremely challenging with current water levels of the Vaaldam at record low levels below 25% and strong winds of up to 50km/h expected on the day, but boy were we surprised and blessed with an awesome day's fishing at the dam.
